Q&A : What is one characteristic that you believe every leader should possess?

Teju - Every leader should posses the quality of being empathic. To be able to lead others and work well with others you should be able to understand what others are going through and react open-mindedly. Being able to connect with those around you and motivate them to succeed is one of the biggest responsibilities of a leader.

Barani - One characteristic that a leader should possess is to be intrepid or humble. This is because when being the leader I think making sure we don't fall mentally and keeping our goal headstrong is the best thing to do and if we do fall the leader must be intrepid. This is because when you are intrepid, not only are you able to get back up but also work ten times harder. This is important for a leader. The other characteristic is to be humble because when taking all leaders only a handful will be humble and this is not something to be criticized for leaders should be able to help others no matter what situation they are in and they should be able to share success with others. These two characteristics mixed with one can make the best leader and the leader who will never fall and will rise to any challenge.

Samika - One characteristic every leader should possess is being open-minded. Being able to be open to other people's opinion and understanding their views is very important. Many leaders feel their opinion or idea is right, not allowing other great ideas to come into play. Being open-minded not only allows leaders to become more successful, but it always brings them a lot of respect and connection with their peers.

Chaithra - Every leader should have empathy. It's a really important that a good leader can understand and connect to their people. Empathy allows us to form a bond with others, and its important that a leader does that. A not-so good leader without empathy causes disconnect with their peers, and wouldn't understand the struggles of the others. That type of leader wouldn't be able to lead the people if they can't understand them. So, it's important that a leader has empathy.

Siddharth - I believe that all leaders should be influential. I understand that being a positive influence is the best way to make an impact of someone's life. Leaders are not dictators. Leaders do not tell you what to do. Leaders do however guide you towards path for success. Being influential means your are trusted and recognized. This can give the leader the power to invest help in making others triumphant. Overall, I know that an influential leader is the one that will make that the largest positive impact on a person's life.

Surapujita - I strongly believe that the most important quality a leader should posses is confidence. If a leader isn't confident in themselves, they can't guide or inspire others. Think about it, if your boss was always dilly-dallying, would you trust them and view them as a leader? If a leader is confident in their own actions, it'll inspire others to view them the same way as well. Confidence also helps leaders motivate others. This is because confident leaders believe in themselves and their team, and they are able to communicate that belief to others. Sometimes leadership can get challenging, and confidence can help persevere through challenges. Confidence is like the aura of leadership. It symbolizes perseverance, trust, and capacity.

Shaan - One characteristic that every leader should possess is is responsibility. A good leader should accept responsibility for their own actions and not blame outcomes on anyone else. This is an important quality because a true leader leader would take responsibility on whatever outcome they created.

Nidhi - I believe that every leader should possess the ability to inspire others. This quality is important cause it highlights what a leaders actions should do in comparison to a few empty words. The ability to inspire others inspires future leaders to do their best. Every leader needs this characteristic to inspire people to bring positive change and to ensure future generations include incredible leaders.
