Your vision will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.

President (8th):  Hey Hornets! I’m Arush Shankar, the ASB President this year and an 8th grader. I am also grateful to be in the Outreach Commission as well. This is my second year in our ASB. Last year, I was the 7th Grade President while also being in the All-Purpose commission. Some things that I like to do in my freetime are hanging out with friends, playing baseball and other sports, doing art, and playing board and video games. I also like watching sports –my favorite teams are the San Francisco Giants and the Las Vegas Raiders. I love traveling, mostly because I have been grateful to go to places like London, Italy, India, Mexico, and France. I have been playing baseball since I was four and I currently play on a club team named Trosky. Playing a team sport like baseball has been really important to me because it has taught me perseverance, confidence, and a better way of thinking, while art has boosted my creativity and optimism. I am really passionate about leadership because I want to make an impact here on our campus and listen to our students. All the things our ASB provides really make me feel thrilled, and I want to help share those feelings with everyone in our school. I am really excited for this year and let’s make it great! Go Hornets! :D

Vice President (8th) : What’s up Hornets! My name is Varad Hosakere and I serve as your Vice President for the 26 - 27 school year. This is my second year in ASB - I served as 7th Grade Vice President last year, and this year am a spirit commissioner. I am a drummer, art and music lover, and enjoy Hooping and hanging out with friends. I ski for the Sierra @ Tahoe Alpine Race team and swim competitively on MAC. I strive to bring energy, dedication, and new ideas to everything I do. I’m very excited to get to know our new class, and look forward to another memorable and spirited year in ASB. If you guys are ever unsure about something, don’t be hesitant to reach out. Go Hornets! "If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader." - John Adams

Secretary (8th) : What's up Hornets! I’m Rohini Gupta, your 26-27 ASB Secretary and in the All-Purpose commission. I’m honestly so excited for another year in ASB and everything that we have coming up! If you don't know me yet, I love all types of art and design. I’ve done debate for a while and have been on the FDA East Bay Debate League team for the past 2 years. Cricket is a huge part of my life too, whether I’m just watching a match or playing for Strickers Cricket Academy. I’ve also been dancing since I was 6 years old and really enjoy it. Basically, if you’re doing something competitive or creative, count me in! Outside of all that, I’m usually spending time with my friends and family, going on trips (I love traveling), or discovering more side hobbies.  I’ve also gotten really into F1 over the past few years (Let’s go Ferrari!) and I’ll watch a race any chance I get. As Secretary, my main goal is to keep the class organized and make sure everyone knows what's going on, both inside the class and outside. More than that, I want school to feel fun and exciting for everyone. The days that are filled with fun events, spirit days, noon activities, etc. are the best, so I want to help keep that up this year! Can’t wait to see you all around, and let’s have an awesome sauce school year! (feel free to shoot me an email at rohgup739@fusdk12.net. Go Hornets!!! 💛💛💛

Treasurer (8th):  Hey, Hornets! I’m Vihaan Mittal, serving as ASB Treasurer for the 26-27 school year. I am an 8th grader who has been in ASB for 2 years. I was in the commission All Purpose this and last year, creating multiple, cherishable memories with the people I worked with. One of my most favorite sports is Badminton which I play competitively at Synergy Academy. I enjoy playing with friends, and improving after every practice, especially since I was super young. A huge skill I learned from this was sportsmanship, and having a strong mentality even when you are losing by a lot. Another thing I love to do is create art, an important method I use to express myself. I love to paint as well as make drawings through charcoal (A form of art using black and white). Through every lesson, my creativity and patience grows. Lastly, I do FTC Robotics outside of school where I collaborate with my teammates to build robots, and have fun but challenging experiences every class. Some cool facts about me is that my favorite color is light blue, and I love Fettucini Alfredo with their chocolate churro balls from Olive Garden. As an officer, this year I will try my hardest to manage our school’s budget, spending it in the right places to improve school conditions, and create events to make students more open and comfortable. Overall, my objective is to create a positive environment for each and every kid in Horner, and do my best as this year's Treasurer!
